San
Marino is located in Southern California, adjacent to the City of Pasadena
at the foot
of the San Gabriel Mountains. 3.75 square miles in size, the population
was reported to be 12,988 in 1990.
The climate is temperate with temperatures ranging from an average
of 40 F during the winter months to an average of 90o F in the summer.
Average relative humidity is 15% with a total average precipitation
of 19 inches. Frost and snowfall are negligible.
The San Marino Unified School District includes Carver and Valentine
Elementary Schools, Huntington Middle School and San Marino High School,
each a recipient of the California Distinguished School Award. Test
scores at all grade levels consistently rank among the highest in the
state.
